MY RECIPE CORNER - ADORABLE DELICIOUS GINGERBREAD GIFT TAGS

Hello all,

Nothing says Christmas to me like baking and gift wrapping. What a time saver to be able to combine the two.1 I found an awesome recipe from Brit and Co for adorable delicious gingerbread gift tags. Yes, you heard that right, the edible cookie you use as a gift tag. This makes you think Why didn't I think of that! Here's the recipe, enjoy!:


INGREDIENTS:

3 cups flour
2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
frosting
bakers twine or ribbon
drinking straw
letter stamps
cookie cutter


INSTRUCTIONS:

In a medium bowl mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
In a separate bowl mix together butter, and brown sugar. Then add molasses, egg, and vanilla. Beat in flour mixture till smooth. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours.
After 4 hours, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Flour a surface and roll out dough to 1/4 inch.
Cut out the shapes with a cookie cutter and the imprint your words with the letter stamp. use the straw to cut a hole at the top.
Place them on a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes. Then let cool.
Decorate with the frosting and use the baker's twine or ribbon to put through the hole to attach to your presents.
